(HUGUENOT, NY) – The Deerpark Town Board will be hosting a special public presentation on the future liability and costs of retirement health benefits and the true cost of labor on MONDAY, MARCH 7, 2011 at 7:30 PM at Town Hall. The presenter will be Mr. Michael Richardson, an Independent Labor Consultant and expert on the costs of retirement health benefits to municipalities.
“It is important for the taxpayers to be aware of the real costs involved to keep staffing at their present levels and status,” said Deerpark Supervisor Karl A. Brabenec. “The town has already taken major steps to minimize future liabilities to the taxpayers by reducing full time positions to part time a few months ago.”
“It is imperative that all government agencies start examining these important factors,” said Councilman David M. Hoovler. “Deerpark is leading the way to run a lean and efficient government for our residents.”
