Flood Watch for Deerpark – Friday, March 11

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Deerpark and the surrounding area through Friday, March 11. Due to the recent heavy rainfall, and the forecast for an additional 4 inches of rain, the potential for moderate to heavy flooding exists in areas prone to flooding from the Neversink River.

The Orange County Emergency Services, the State Emergency Management Office, and the National Weather Service, along with Deerpark Emergency Management Officials are closely monitoring levels along the Neversink River. Precautionary preparations are also being made with the Red Cross to open an emergency shelter at Port Jervis High School, if flooding occurs. Updates will be posted on this web site as they become available.
