Tipping fees at the three Orange County Solid Waste Transfer Stations to be waived

Orange County tipping fees at the three Orange County Solid Waste Transfer Stations in New Hampton, Newburgh, and Port Jervis will be waived on Thursday 9/1, Friday 9/2, Saturday 9/3, Tuesday 9/6, Wednesday 9/7, Thursday 9/8, and Friday 9/9 for all disaster debris received by the transfer stations;

Transfer station hours vary by location, however, only on Saturday 9/3 all three stations will be open from 7 am – 4 pm;

The tipping fees for regular household garbage are not waived by Orange County;

Disaster debris may be brought to the transfer stations by municipal vehicles, contracted vendors of municipalities, and private vehicles;

Disaster debris MUST be separated into various types of waste – metals and appliances, such as water heaters, furnaces, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, dish washers, and like items, and, mixed debris – such as carpets, rugs, bedding, decorations, clothing, and wood furniture, and like items;

Wood products – including trees, branches, stumps, pallets and unadulterated lumber may be brought to Wessels’ Farms, located at 94 Bull Road, Otisville, NY 10963 for no charge. Please contact Mike Wessels at (845) 386-5681, www.wesselsfarm.net;

All residents are requested to retain their Household Hazardous Waste in a safe and secure container until it will be received by EF&S either on Friday 9/16 (for businesses, government agencies, schools and farms who are pre-registered, with no charge for municipalities and schools) or Saturday 9/18 for residents at the Delano Hitch Recreation Park on Washington Street in the City of Newburgh.
